I love The Searchers, they will have the bestest books. I was about to walk past today, but thought I'd just pop in quickly to see if they have any design books. Instead I found these ...

Gnomes would retail for $25 and Faeries (although it now has a much cooler cover) sells for $35. These books combined cost me $32!!!
And they have the musty book smell, WooHoo!! And even cooler, Faeries has an enscription to Alex, from her Dad with love! She obviously doesn't love him enough any more, or she's dead and they took her books a second-hand store ... whatever. Make up your own reasons if you want.

Cara visited the Semi Permenant exhibition in Sydeny and saw Amy Sol. Her asrt work is gorgeous. She paints these beautiful mythical creatures. I love it. My Baking Disaster.

Today I'm on morning tea. So last night I decided to make some cookies to bring to work. I thought bunny cookies would do nicely. However I encountered some problems. I found a suitable recipe. But no cookie cutters. It all went down hill from there!!

There was no hand mixer, so i tried to use the old bowl mixer. And set it on a speed that was too fast. And sugar went flying every where!!!
I forgot to get certain utensil, such as a rolling pin and had to pull apart the utensil drawers to find one.
I had to cut the shapes out with a knife and they looked shocking.... i gave up and just cut out circles.

Some how I got them into the oven. Only to burn the bottom of half on them and under cook the rest!

I was tired and cranky.
And they looked horrible.
So I gave up and went to bed.

This morning I went bought Hot Cross Buns from the supermarket! I didn't want to, i was trying to avoid the cliche Easter treat, but i had no choice.

I went to look at books today, coz it makes me feel happy. And I ended up buying some. Normal I don't pay full price for books. I prefer pre-loved books and usually don't spend more then $10 on one. I only ever buy new books if I can't live without them (ie the new Obernewtyn Chrionicle/Harry Potter etc). So, I was looking around and noticed that they had the following books that are one my list of books to read:

I bought 2 and got the 3rd FREE!!! How nice.

I can't wait to start reading them. I just need to choose which one to start first ... hmmm any suggestions?

I've waited 8 years for this moment

I'm so excited. Isobelle Carmody has finally written the next chronicle! (It was realesed at the start of Feb, but no one told me!)

Here is the first tow paragraphs of Part 1:

"It ought to have felt momentous, going through the pass and seeing the highlandsspread out in the pink-gold morning light, momentous because, for the first time, Iwas riding down to a Land that was free, and where I need not hide who or what I was.Yet it was impossible to feel complacent or even secure because soon, for the first time,Landfolk would vote for their leaders, who might undo all that the rebels had achieved since theCouncil had been overthrown. And where would that leave Misfits like me? The hatred andprejudice against us, which the Council and Herder Faction had encouraged, had not ended withtheir reign. The wrong leader could easily fan the flames of resentment and unease into a fire that might yet consume us. But as the rebel leader Dardelan had so often said, there could be nofreedom if people were not able to choose their own leaders."

I brought it at K-Mart tuesday night when I was picking up my yoga mat. And only got three pages in before I fell asleep (I'm so exhusted these days). And the book is quite thick. It could kill some one if it is drop from a great height. But then dropping anything from a great height could kill someone, but you get the idea.

The interesting part is that this book isn' the last of the chronicles like she intended. There is still a final one to be realesed. "The Sending". It this great!!!!!

Feelin' the Fear

I'm going through a sad spot. But this book is helping me so much. It doesn't take the pain away but it helps me feel better. I'm facing my fears and I know I can handle them. I highly recommend it to every living person who gets scared, even just a little, about the future.
